Project(s) Description: The project Women’s Safety Audit in the city of Faridabad. The RA will assist the principal investigators, Prof Pritha Dev and Prof Karan Babbar, in designing and implementing a large scale survey to understand women’s safety from a prevalence, perception and prevention perspective. The survey design will integrate experimental design to extract the best estimates related to women’s safety in the city. The RA will monitor the team in charge of conducting the survey, carry out data cleaning and analysis. They will assist with report writing as well.
Qualifications: Candidates with a Master’s in Economics are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidate will use this experience to hone their skill towards the aim of pursuing higher studies. Candidates should have demonstrated interest in behavioral/experimental studies and gender.
Eligibility: As the project is survey based, those with prior survey experience are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have good knowledge of one of STATA / R and will ideally have prior experience of data cleaning and analysis. Understanding of econometric techniques and good language skills will be given preference.
Project Tenure: The initial appointment is for six months, with a possibility of extension up to one year, based on performance appraisal.
Selection Process: Selected applicants from the pool would be requested to submit a preliminary analysis of a curated data-set, along with the accompanying code (including estimation routines) to the Principal Investigator.
Location:
The selected candidate(s) would be working from Ahmedabad. IIMA provides access to library and computer center for all Research Assistants. The campus is centrally located within the city of Ahmedabad with proximity to several residential and commercial hubs. Candidates are expected to look for accommodation by themselves, outside the campus premises.
Compensation: Compensation will be attractive and commensurate with the qualification and experience.
