About CSIR CFTRI

CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), an esteemed institution under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) in New Delhi, is delighted to invite applications for the full-time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Sciences and Engineering Sciences. This program falls under the Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research (AcSIR) and is available for the January 2024 session. Eligibility Criteria:

1. Ph.D. Sciences (Biological and Chemical): Regular & Sponsored

To be eligible for the Ph.D. Sciences program, you must hold a Master’s degree in Science with a minimum of 55% marks for General/General-EWS candidates or 50% marks for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD candidates. Additionally, you must have a valid national-level fellowship such as JRF/SRF from funding agencies like CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST, or any equivalent fellowship.

2. Ph.D. Engineering: Regular & Sponsored

To qualify for the Ph.D. Engineering program, you should possess a Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology after completing a four-year degree or integrated 5-year B.Tech./M.Tech. program. For General/General-EWS candidates, a minimum of 55% marks is required, while for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwD candidates, a minimum of 50% marks is necessary.

Application Process:

To apply for the CSIR-CFTRI Ph.D. Research Programme, interested candidates must complete the online application form available on the AcSIR website. The application deadline is the 17th of September 2023.

An application fee is applicable, with Rs. 1000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Selection Procedures:

Candidates will be selected for the Ph.D. Research Programme based on aptitude tests and interviews held at CSIR-CFTRI in Mysuru. Shortlisted candidates will be notified of the interview dates on the AcSIR website. It is important to note that no TA (Travel Allowance) or DA (Dearness Allowance) will be provided for attending the tests and interviews.
