Highly motivated students holding CSIR-JRF Fellowships are invited to apply for the IISER TVM PhD Admission 2023. The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) welcomes applications for admission to its PhD programs. These programs are available in the Schools of Physics and Chemistry, along with the Centers of Advanced Materials Research with International Engagement (CAMRIE) and High-Performance Computing (CHPC).

General Eligibility Criteria for IISER TVM PhD Admission 2023

 

Chemical Sciences:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. A minimum of 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (or equivalent first-class) or a first-class Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from the respective University. (Note: BE/BTech degree in relevant specialization is acceptable for select research areas in the School of Physics, refer to Research Areas).

2. Qualification of CSIR-JRF, with validity as of 01 September 2023.

 

Physical Sciences:

Relevant Areas:

Physical Sciences/Material Science/ Engineering closely aligned with School of Physics, IISER TVM

Eligibility Criteria:

1. A minimum of 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (or equivalent first-class) or a first-class Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from the respective University. (Note: BE/BTech degree in relevant specialization is acceptable for select research areas in the School of Physics, refer to Research Areas).

2. Qualification of CSIR-JRF, with validity as of 01 September 2023.

Note: BE/BTech candidates are eligible for certain research areas. Refer to “Remarks” in School-wise research areas.

 

CAMRIE (Center for Advanced Materials Research with International Engagement):

The candidates fulfilling criteria Eligibility 1 and Eligibility 2 will be called for an online interview at IISER TVM for IISER TVM PhD Admission 2023.

 

Physical Sciences

During the application process, the candidates will be asked to enter one or more of the choices listed above, from the Advertised areas/ Faculty. The applicants fulfilling criteria Eligibility 1 and Eligibility 2 will be invited to attend interviews conducted in hybrid mode.

 

CAMRIE

During the application process, a candidate will be asked to select one or more choices of the research area for the centre based on her/his qualification.
The candidates fulfilling criteria Eligibility 1 and Eligibility 2 will be called for a walk-in interview at IISER TVM on a specified date.

 

CHPC

During the application process, a candidate will be asked to select one or more choices of the research area for the centre based on her/his qualification.
The candidates fulfilling criteria Eligibility 1 and Eligibility 2 will be invited to attend interviews which will be conducted in hybrid mode at IISER TVM.

Application Process for IISER TVM PhD Admission 2023

The application process for IISER TVM PhD Admission 2023 is given below:

  1. Applicants should complete the online application form at the url: (http://appserv.iisertvm.ac.in/phd/index.php/applicant/register/12).
  2. Only applications complete in all respects would be considered. Do not forget to click the “Submit” button after completing your application.
  3. Applicants will also be prompted to upload all the supporting documents online.
  4. Applicants should provide Name/Affiliation/Contact number and Email addresses of two referees in the application form.
  5. Applicants belonging to GE/OBC and SC/ST/PH categories are required to make a payment of Rs. 500/- and Rs. 250/-, respectively, as a processing fee online at: (https://epayments.iisertvm.ac.in/index.php/paymentsforms/form/95314-95312)..
  6. On submission of the online application form, the applicants will receive an acknowledgement email with a unique application number.
  7. Applicants are NOT required to post a hard copy of the application to IISER TVM.
  8. In case of any application-related queries, please contact the Ph. D. coordinator by email at: phdprogramme@iisertvm.ac.in . Any other mode of communication will not be entertained.
  9. Mere fulfilment of the eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for the interview.

About IISER Thiruvananthapuram

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram (often referred to as IISER Thiruvananthapuram or IISER-TVM), stands as an independent public university situated in Thiruvananthapuram, India. As one of the seven IISERs instituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, its purpose is to bridge the gap between research and fundamental science education at the undergraduate level. The other six IISERs are IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Tirupati, and IISER Berhampur.
