IBAB-Biocon Research Project 2024: Overview for JRF Position
Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in IBAB-Biocon research project has been declared which is an excellent chance for M.Sc. students interested in pursuing a PhD. Based entirely on work progress, this post will be converted into a PhD position for a duration of 5 years. Biocon will provide the funds for the project, and the chosen candidate will be offered accommodation in the IBAB hostel.

Details of IBAB-Biocon Research Project 2024 for JRF Position
The IBAB-Biocon collaborative research project will be supervised by Dr. Sanjay Ghosh (Senior Assistant Professor, Synthetic Biology) at IBAB. The researchers in his lab aims to use CRISPR-Cas9 techniques to specifically manipulate gene expression and metabolic pathways in yeast cells, with the aim of producing valuable biomolecules and products.
The selected candidate will be required to work on a translation project titled “Engineering yeast strains for production of biologics” and will be evaluated on academic performance and progress.
Requirements for IBAB-Biocon Research Project 2024: JRF Position
The IBAB-Biocon Junior Research Fellow position is accepting applications from eligible applicants who meet the minimum qualifications.
Educational Qualification
- Master’s degree (M.Sc. OR equivalent) in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Genetics or related subjects with at least 60% of marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in yeast genetics, basic molecular biology and cell biology techniques including cloning methods, microscopy and FACS analyses.
- Ability to maintain accurate lab records and data analyses, good organizational and problem-solving skills, team player and willingness to learn.
- Experience of working in industry.

Fellowship of IBAB-Biocon Research Project 2024
As per DST norms. The fellowship will be extended following an annual review of the work and satisfactory progress till project funding is available.
